We are a Friend's Group dedicated to volunteering in the Werribee Gorge State Park and Long Forest Nature Conservation Reserve, located near Bacchus Marsh in the Moorabool Shire.
Our activities include tree planting, weeding, maintenance and other conservation projects.
We always welcome new members.
FOWGLFM would like to acknowledge that we are working within the lands of the Woiwurrung and Wuthurrung nations. We wish to pay our respects to the Wurrundjeri and Wathaurong people, traditional owners of the lands that include Werribee Gorge State Park and Long Forest Nature Conservation Reserve.
We recognise their continued connection to these lands, and that caring for country is an integral part of the culture of the Wurrundjeri and Wathaurong people. We understand that sovereignty was never ceded and we pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
FOWGLFM meet monthly, from February to November. We welcome all ages and capabilities. Our project days usually run from 9.30am to 3pm. All Friends are welcome for all or part of the day. BYO lunch and good cheer!
Werribee Gorge State Park and Long Forest Nature Conservation Reserve are places of special interest, with many opportunities for bush walking, picnics, bird watching and enjoying the restorative nature of the bush.
FOWGLFM have been actively involved in conservation projects at Werribee Gorge and Long Forest since 1984. While success in conservation ebbs and flows, we are proud of the work we have done, and continue to do.
